BMI royalty statement...?

Post by funsongs » Fri Nov 17, 2023 11:40 am

Maybe I just forgot - or, it happens so rarely, or long ago -
the email I got today had an old (bank) account number that's long been closed.
I was able to update the info; now to see what happens NEXT.

I'd be interested to know from others:
How frequently do you get a royalty statement email notice from your PRO?
:? :?: 8-)

In advance, thanks.

As I'm also with BMI, who send them every quarter, its usually every quarter, although I have missed the odd one or two before this year.

Okay - but do you get them regardless of no activity? Just to show you 'ZERO'...?
Thanks Graham.

Its been a while, but there might have been occasions in the past when I heard nothing from BMI. I think they've changed their operation since then so you now get notification of something similar to a statement if there's insufficient activity to break the payment threshold, but the royalties roll over until the next quarter. From memory, that notification arrives later but within a few days of the distribution day. However, I've no idea what happens if there's absolutely zero activity. Perhaps nothing happens if there's nothing to notify you of.

You can always log into your account and check in the Royalty Statements section to see whether there's a Q2 2023 statement.

This is sorta what I figured. Thank you.

They send me a check to the address on file.

To answer a question... If you don't have anything due, they don't send a statement.

You need to update your information with BMI.
