The prodigal son

Post by superkons » Mon Nov 06, 2023 4:50 pm

Aside from the biblical reference, and as I anticipated to a few ones at the Rally (ML included), I decided to rejoin Taxi starting from the new year.
Attending the Rally as a guest a couple of times is more than enough, and keeping doing that feels unfair to Taxi and the paying members. The Rally alone is more worth than the price of the membership, and even more worth is to be able to get together with extraordinary people and share a few days together!

The subject line

I'm glad that I finally made it out to one this year and agree that it's worth the price for the Rally itself. I'm just wondering when Panang Thai will become a sponsor.

Nice to hear you say that. I see lots of members start with Taxi, become successful with music libraries as a result & building up their library contacts, and then not renewing Taxi because they don't submit much anymore since they have "go to" libraries or are busy with projects. But they come to the rally as a guest every year. For $200 a year renewal, I'll always support the organization who did so much for me and, of course, the road rally.

I don't submit much anymore, work mostly with the libraries I have, and rarely write or co-write for listings. But I always read listings & listen to lots of reference tracks to keep up with what's going on currently in the music world. And I've gone to every rally since 2007. My membership fee goes towards keeping it all alive. It's the least I can do. :D

Best,
:D Casey

Ta Casey, it took me a while to open my eyes and understand what Taxi really is about.
I will do exactly what you do: contribute to keeping the company alive and submit to the odd listing, it is only fair. After all, without Taxi I would not be writing for the 15 libraries I am in, 2 of which came from forwards
