Metadata Editor

Post by JohnV » Mon Oct 09, 2023 7:26 pm

Forgive me if this has been answered.

I'm looking for the best Metadata editor for .WAVs .mp3s, etc. for Mac.

It doesn't have to be free, but I'd rather not pay $199 for SoundMiner just yet.

Thanks so much,

JV

Someone turned me onto KID3
https://kid3.kde.org/
and it seems to work well for what I do.

Hope that helps!

I'm not sure if you're still looking but i'm currently using a program called "Meta" on Mac. it's fairly basic to be honest its pretty quick and easy. Another ive used off and on is "Tag Editor / Lite" which has a few more features etc.

Pete.

There's also the free program Mp3tag. Keep in mind that wav files do not reliably hold metadata across different systems. But mp3 and aif/aiff files do.

Hi JV,

I use Metadatics app available on the Apple App store for Macs. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/metadatic ... 3654?mt=12

I import a wav or aiff, tag it and add artwork. Then I open the track in SoundStudio https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sound-stu ... 7804?mt=12 to export into other formats such as mp3 and all of the data entered in Metadatics flows through.

Best,

Chris
