Singer/Songwriter Feedback S240123VR

Hi guys,
This was my first time at producing a vocal track.
The screeners feedback for my track was: "I think you could improve this song by
Updating the production to the territory of songs like "Blinding Lights" by Loi is a thought to appeal to this request. I'm hearing more classic adult contemporary flavor in current form." and " returned or forwarded this song because
The rendition could be more current singer/songwriter styled for this request"

Blinding Lights by Loi

My Submissions:

Disco Playlist

What about my production makes it sound more adult contemporary vs singer/songwriter?

Just my opinion and I might be on the wrong trail, but when I hear your tracks I imagine a more mature singer with cultured vibrato and the vocal is surrounded by lots of reverb. When I hear the ref track the vocal is drier, closer, less cultured, less vibrato, more naive, more breathy, more intimate, and these things all suggest more youthful and modern to me. I hope that helps.
