First Library Deal, A Direct Result of Attending the 2023 Taxi Rally!

Post by ThomasGoodlunas » Tue Mar 26, 2024 1:27 pm

I want to share some good news and let everyone know that I recently signed three tracks to my first music library! This is directly related to my being present at the last Taxi Rally and taking advantage of the opportunities to learn and network. My conversation with the library owner led to me giving him my business card (which had a photo of me playing violin) and then in early February I received an email asking if I would interested in submitting, which led to a contract and my music being accepted. I have been a Taxi member for a while but this was only my third Rally, so I can attest that having your feet on the ground, and being ready to meet folks of like-mind, is definitely worth the effort. Go Rally! :D

Great story Thomas! I like the lovely lilting violin, especially on the first track, so best of luck to you for some placements soon.
Graham (UK). Still composing a little faster than decomposing, and 100% HI.

That is awesome! :D Beautiful violin work! Having a picture of you with your violin on your business card was a smart move.

Also, people often need someone to add violin to their track either as WFH or co-write. I've hired violin players in the past and sometimes get asked if I know someone. I'll certainly keep your name handy. 8-)

Best of luck!
:D Casey

That's wassup, Thomas! And yeah, like Casey said, there is ALWAYS a need for great live violin on sooooo much music, and too many of us settle for the crappy virtual counterpart. Stick around these forums and you might find yourself pocketing some nice money as a Work-For-Hire player or getting into even more libraries as a co-writer.

I'll definitely keep you in mind personally. You're an ace player, and your recording quality is impeccable.

I’m glad you appreciated the violin! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for placements and working hard to get more music signed, especially now that I’ve realized this first step of success. Thank you for the encouragement!

Hi Casey, thank you for the compliments and yes, I’m glad I put my photo on my card, with a QR code too. I read that on the Taxi website or here in the forum, it may have even been your advice! If you come in contact with someone or have need of a violin (or fiddle) please get in touch.

Great report, Thomas! CONGRATS on the success.
I've use a few WFH fiddlers - primarily for Country, Bluegrass, and Irish Traditional.
Always glad to add a name and contact info (still use the old-school ROLODEX card file!).

If you feel comfortable about sending me your email via Private Message (PM),
and I'll reply with mine - rather than post either on this very-public forum.
There's almost always a project in the hopper.
