Music Marketing for the Indie Musician With Bobby Borg on This Week’s TAXI TV!

Post by TAXILIZ » Fri Apr 05, 2024 11:24 am

Dear Songwriters, Composers, Artists, and Producers,

Bobby Borg joined me on TAXI TV a couple weeks ago; and after the show ended, I realized how much more we could have covered. Specifically, I felt that we could have gone more in-depth on the subject of marketing for musicians.

He’s the perfect person to talk about it because he’s the author of Music Marketing for The DIY Musician. But, he’s much more than the author of that book!

Here’s his bio!
Bobby is a former major label, independent, and DIY recording/touring artist with over 30 years of experience, working alongside the most respected musicians, songwriters, managers, producers, and A&R executives in the music industry. He also served as the VP of Special Events for the Los Angeles chapter of the American Marketing Association, Interim Chairman of Music Business at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, California, and a lecturer of music business and marketing at institutions like Berklee College of Music, University of Miami, and University of Southern California where he was awarded by students and staff as “Distinguished Instructor.”

Borg is also the author of four widely read books:  Music Marketing for The DIY Musician, Business Basics for Musicians, Introduction to Music Publishing for Musicians,  and Personal Finance for Musicians. Borg is the founder of Bobby Borg Consulting and his weekly YouTube Music Biz Education channel, where he helps independent artists and music business professionals turn their art into a more successful business. Borg holds a BA in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music, certificates in Marketing Management, Project Management, and Instructor Development from UCLA, and a Master’s degree in Communications Management (Phi kappa Phi) from the University of Southern California.

All things being equal…
If two musicians are equally talented, the one who has his or her marketing act together is more likely to get the gig. Why? Because they’re more visible!

Getting noticed and standing out can often be the difference between success and failure—no matter which part of the music business you’re going after: Sync placements, playing live, pitching songs, trying to get signed to a major label, or going indie. Having marketing chops can even help you with something as simple as creating titles for TV instrumental cues!

Join me for this fast-moving lesson in how you can stand out when you need it most. Bobby never disappoints, and this episode of TAXI TV will live up to that promise!

Win This FREE Book!
We'll be giving away a copy of Bobby's book, Music Marketing for the DIY Musician, in the chat during the show! Be sure to stick around for the whole live episode so you don't miss your chance to win!
