I hired a session singer for my new rock track ??

Post by feaker66 » Tue Apr 16, 2024 6:01 pm

I just finished a new rock demo track and realized my voice wasn't right for it and tentatively hired a singer from Finland. No $100 if I am not pleased. The subject line is about a dude that finally got fed up of living under the thumb. Lyrics kinda brutal. Please listen for a little while and rate his singing. I am simply not sure thanks much Paul

The Great Escape

Shut up and listen I got things to say
Unlike.. before you won’t be gettin yur way
You bullied me for everything I did and what I’d say
I finally got my balls back..I’m leavin your sorry ass today

See that woman over there..who’s agrovatin
She used to be mine but I let her go
See that woman over there..who’s nauseating
Sayonara crazy woman never more to suffer at your hands

I’m on my own now but her angry voice keeps ringing
Her face contorted walking towards me memory still stinging
Keeping busy finding friends diversions for my head
Late at night.. my dreams alive..with visions ..of.. her.. dead

See that woman over there..who’s agrovatin
She used to be mine but I let her go
See that woman over there..who’s nauseating
I think my life is gonna change for the better

I’d had enough of you..it was time for me to fly
You held me down for so long I thought I’z gonna die
I won’t miss you flailing arms.. your syko attacks
It’s all about me now I’m gonna get my old life back

See that woman over there intoxicated
She used to be mine, but I let her go
See that woman over there so nauseating
I’m getting off watching yur ass walking out my door
Out my door…out my door….goodbye devil woman

Hmmm... well, only listened to a little bit - these old-guy ears couldn't make out the lyrics.
Maybe more Rock-atuned & experienced ears will like it just fine.
You mileage may vary.

He's got a good bass and strong voice.
Is the right one for the song? Not sure.
Maybe try a mix "gluing" the voice with the instrumental would be better.
Song is cool!

Decent vocals, the track needs mixing properly though

Hi Peter I am having trouble understanding the lyrics, and I wrote them. He changed the note deviations and sang mono tone in many places. Especially the line "I finally got my balls back". ha ha thanks for your input

WSAO Hello. His voice is powerful, but did his own thing so to speak? I'm not sure either. I will pay him either way. The song won't be on the radio anytime soon anyway. Thanks for taking the time

sir dolphin I hoped you would chirp. decent vox and mixing/mastering will help. I suck at it tho. stay cool and thanks

Feaker,
with the hired singer your music takes on an epic (dare I say 'proggy') rock tone. I'm learning to hear you in a whole new way. Rock on, brother!

Hi Allan I had to look up what proggy meant. ha ha I have been doing some experiment as of late. I used to record mostly L and R rhythm guitars banging away supporting the mixx but nowhere to breathe. I am presently limping using windows 7. I went to upgrade to 10 and can't get on the internet. Have to find some youngen for help
thanks Alan for taking a test ride

I don't get why?

Hi sir gates. You ask why, assuming you are referring why I hired a singer. 1. my voice is not aggressive enough for rock 2. I saw an add and bit on it. 3. I was curious.
Thanks for the graphic. Yeah, I am that old, but dress better.
