Which track are you most proud of that got returned?

Was it a song placement on Young and the Restless, or more of an instrumental underscore? I've been working with a few libraries since I joined TAXI a year ago, but am still waiting on my first placement, so it's interesting to hear about these successes. When you first started getting your music into libraries, how long did it take for them to find placements? (although I imagine there are a million variables that would affect how quickly it happens).

It was a vocal song. Most placements on that show are vocal songs. However, sometimes they will only use the backing track to a vocal song. That happens with all libraries, that is why they always want a no-vocal mix. It also happens sometimes that they weave in and out between with and without vocal or even combine the two to vary the relative level of vocal to backing. It comes down to what works best under the dialogue.

It was a few years from my first library signing to a placement. But this, as you said can vary from weeks to months to years to never.

Just keep feeding the library pipeline. Write, Submit, Forget, Repeat.
