I put music on hold and put guitar down and had a "normal" career for 45 years and now trying to do something with songs mostly written or started in 70's and some new ones written now. Mostly country, but sounds 70's and no market, even here as "Vintage" (recorded a one time trip to the studio in 1998, but all sound 70's so cannot meet criteria here for the submissions to date).
One of my new songs was more Indie/Folk so I submitted it as such for titled submission and was shocked it was forwarded. Me and an acoustic guitar and after self-teaching recording software to fix vocal and instrument mistakes, I fiddled with it enough it sounds mostly like I heard it in my head.
I saw a special Michael did on Youtube and it was for "hey guys you vote on these as to FORWARD or RETURN" and I got to hear several that were forwarded. Not mine. DOn't get me wrong, I like my song. But hearing the ones selected that WERE forwarded, not sure HOW I got forwarded, unless they figure "for every 50 "Returns" Taxi needs to "give a dog a bone" and throw me one?

After receiving feedback on my 4 country 70's songs, under numerous postings, and fixing what I could, and seeing they really can't go anywhere (they were recorded technically in the 90s, and sound like 70's so will never get fowarded), I am going to start self-publishing and stop submitting them through Taxi, just to let friends and family hear them.
But, here's the question, since my Indie Folk song WAS forwarded, I am thinking of holding it out as I've been told by Michael and others in case it IS in fact selected by the publisher, but it was forwarded almost a month ago, and I haven't heard anything, should I assume it is not going to be picked up and I can publish that one too for the same friends and family? Or does it sometimes take longer? If the latter I'll keep it out, or submit it again later for more postings.
