Yay or Nay for this listing

Post by Casey H » Fri Nov 29, 2024 8:14 am

This was recorded way back around 2003 so it is what it is. https://www.taxi.com/members/NgzgvadjQC ... adrenaline
The listing says "really wide range" and has other supporting language to that, so I didn't put much effort into comparing to the reference tracks.

Yay or Nay?
:D Casey

The listing:
Lots of VINTAGE ROCK SONGS recorded BEFORE 2005 with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a very busy Music Library with a great track record of placements in Films and TV shows!

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Please include the Year your Songs were recorded in the lyric section of the TAXI submission form! You MUST provide us with the year the recordings were made if you'd like to be considered for this request. Unfortunately, if you don't include that information we won't be able to forward your music to the requesting company. NO EXCEPTIONS.

This Library is looking for Songs in ALL TEMPOS that are in the general stylistic ballpark of these references, and others like them:

"Bold as Love" by Jimi Hendrix

"Closer To The Heart" by Rush

"Because the Night" by Patti Smith

"Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake

"Seether" by Veruca Salt

Please submit a wide range of original Rock Songs that were recorded before 2005! Your Songs should have solid arrangements, memorable choruses, and well-crafted lyrics. Rock Instrumentation in the general ballpark of the references and others like them will work best. Male or Female vocals with excellent performances are needed. Original Songs only, please!

TAXI Tip: This Library is open to a really wide range of Rock Songs, as demonstrated in the references! Anything ranging from the birth of Rock and Roll (think late '50s/early '60s) all the way up to the Hard Rock/Grunge phase of the late '90s/early 2000s could all potentially work! Just make sure your tracks sound great and fall solidly in the Rock genre!

IMPORTANT: This company is looking for Songs that were actually recorded before 2005, give or take a few years! They DO NOT want material that was recently recorded and made to sound old. They can only use AUTHENTIC, ORIGINAL, VINTAGE RECORDINGS, and only if the sound quality is reasonably good.

Lyrics that avoid specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity could make your songs easier to place. Era-appropriate Broadcast Quality is needed.

NOTE: If you had any session musician(s) (other than yourself) perform on your tracks, please be sure to have any applicable paperwork and/or work-for-hire agreements on-hand if contacted by the Company.

AI ALERT: This company does not accept or sign music that has been lyrically or melodically composed using generative AI, nor does it accept backing tracks, full instrumental tracks, or vocal performances created with AI.

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, Sync-only deal. You’ll split any applicable sync fees 50/50 with the company. You’ll keep 100% of the Writer’s share and 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Friday, December 20th, 2024. TAXI # S241220VK

I think it fits the descripiton although not sure you have universal enough lyrics there but musically it sounds like a 90s era rock song with decent performances so I would say yes - submit it

Nice one Casey. I'd say a bit of acid rock is in scope so yes, go for it!
Like it is, and 100% HI
