Forward or Return?

Post by Casey H » Tue Dec 03, 2024 3:14 pm

This might have been forwarded, might have been returned. I'm always curious what people think before they know the answer. They do that on Taxi TV sometimes. High bar listing! :D

The song: https://s.disco.ac/tmpovtczhdyh
Lots of MODERN, RADIO-Ready POP SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by a prominent Media Company that provides curated in-store music to major Global Brands across various sectors.

This Company is on the hunt for Mid-to-Up Tempo Songs that could be heard on a playlist with the following references:

WARNING: The references may include graphic and explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.

"greedy" by Tate McRae

"Stargazing" by Myles Smith

"Before the Kiss" by Lo Lauren

Please submit modern Pop Songs with super catchy hooks, infectious grooves, and a sound that could be heard on a playlist with the references! Your submissions should have unforgettable melodies, exciting rhythms, solid arrangements, and well-written lyrics. These tracks should have a radio-ready quality that is competitive with what’s currently in the Pop charts, featuring great dynamics, solid production, and engaging motifs. Pop Instrumentation in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the references and other mainstream Pop Songs will work best for this opportunity. Please be sure that any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and modern. Well-performed Male or Female vocals with a mainstream sound are needed!

Please do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

AI ALERT: This company does not accept or sign music that has been lyrically or melodically composed using generative AI, nor does it accept backing tracks, full instrumental tracks, or lead vocal performances created with AI.

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split any income from direct licensing deals 50/50 with the company, and you will keep 100% ownership of all rights. You must own or control your Masters and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit as many Songs as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PST) on Monday, November 25th, 2024. TAXI # S241125PP

This is definitely a radio-ready pop song.
However It’s got a bit of a different vibe compared to the references.
I guess it’ll come down to the screener, some are pickier than others.
Fingers crossed it makes the cut, though, ‘cause it’s an awesome track, no doubt!
Cheers!

Tough call! I think you have a really fun song, but those references make for some stiff competition… hopefully a forward, ‘cause the screener saw potential?
