I've actually found myself considering the RR25! It's a pretty huge commitment to come from all the way from Finland especially when I swore I wouldn't even touch anything american you know because of who. But I can't let one garbage truck driver stand in my way. That would mean he wins and I lose. I won't make any promises but I will try to get there. Bunch of stuff to study to get prepared!

Based on the new members zoom I can confirm this.

Can you give me some numbers about the hotel fees, food and stuff like that so I could estimate what it costs in total to come? What I've learned is that it's best to stay at the same hotel as where the RR is held and that Taxi provides a good deal for the rooms. Just saw an add for LA flights in Finnish TV for 699€

If I recall from last year, the hotel after taxes was around $200 (USD)/night. I mentioned some tips on saving money for food at that link. Budgeting for food depends on how careful you are as far as drinking at the bar, eating at the hotel restaurant (which DOES have great food), etc. But you do want to have fun!

Great, thanks! I don't know about the fun part, though Travelling through ten time zones for maybe a five day stay is something my body is not excited about but my brain thinks otherwise I've been to USA three times before (West Coast, Dallas, NYC) and I remember what the jet lag feels like. My guess is it won't be any easier this time!

I've never seen the dates change in the 20+ years I've known about or been with Taxi. So I'd say it's pretty darn safe. I already booked mine since I don't know what's going to happen regarding airfares over the course of the year.

Yea, the timezone thing must be brutal. I have friends from the UK, Australia, and New Zealand who come every year. I'm only 3 hours off from the US East Coast and I take a nap every day when there.
