My first forward ever!
Woohoo, I just got two out of five forwarded for the shoegaze/altrock listing S250428AK! My very first ones! First I thought I got three but despite the "nothing to critizice" feedback one was apparently a little off genre wise (too noisy/aggressive). Two other ones were lacking in topline melody or/and developmental arc. The one that I tried the hardest to keep on target and follow every tip and rule with got the least favorable feedback. And I have to admit, I was the least inspired to do that one even though I was happy with the end result.
I was a little surprised which ones got through because they didn't quite follow the general rules of a good cue. They are both essentially more like big slow build-ups but have a lot of development harmonically and melodically. So, basically the ones that were true to the genre and had the best atmosphere and melodies got a forward.
Caverns of Hope was one of my favourites so I'm really happy it got through. It sounds pretty huge IMO.

Deep Ascension has a lot of air and develops slowly towards the grande finale.

This one was one of my personal favourites but I guess the interplay between the quite complex chord progression and very simple melody was not enough. Melody is the king. I will rework this for sure.

I was starting to feel a little anxious so this is a big relief. I'm doing something right. Phew.

Re: My first forward ever!
Thank you! Feeling a little anxious waiting for a contact. I just hope it won't take seven years like in the story I heard from Taxi TV

Re: My first forward ever!
The best advice you’ll get around here is “Write, Submit, Forget, Repeat”
To be honest, it’s more likely than not that you won’t hear from the library because of this forward. Not because your track isn’t great, but just because that’s how this business goes.
So don’t sweat it! Move on to the next track/listing/whatever. Keep racking up quality tracks and forwards and it’ll happen!
