What's the Difference (tween me and you...)? - Epic Trailer Pop

Post by macomposer » Wed Jul 02, 2025 11:05 am

Hey Everyone!

(So the title of the post is an old Dr. Dre song reference.. I'm not really asking the difference between me and you...)

What's the difference between an Epic Trailer track (that is usually instrumental) versus the call which is asking for an an Epic Trailer-style pop Instrumental?

The call is listed below and has been run at least one time previously (I think it may have even run on Dispatch before that, so this may be the third time, but not sure..) And they are still looking, so I might try to crack this one.

I've done a few of these with vocals in the past. There's even one still up on my Taxi profile. It's this one:

Bad Name

However, I'm having trouble figuring what to do if you loose the vocal. Doesn't it just become a backing track? And in this case, wouldn't that make it not so dissimilar to a regular epic trailer track? That's what I'm running into.. If the vocal is not there, what anchors the track? I don't want to write it in the typical way, and it can't be that anyway because they want the 3-act structure.

Does anyone have any clues?

Thanks,
Mark
