Permission to release a cover of Dylan song?

What is the process for including a version of Bob Dylan's " Masters Of War " on our C.D. if we plan on selling them to the public? Dave

Hi Dave:If you plan on selling/producing 2,500 units or less of your CD, you can get a compulsory mechanical license for the Dylan song.Compulsory mechanical licenses usually can be obtained at Harry Fox Agency (www.harryfox.com). Harry Fox has a songfile database listing all songs available for license that you can look up via internet. In the event the song you wish to cover is not in the Harry Fox database, your next alternative is to determine who has the publishing rights to the song. Once you've found the publisher, reach out to them, and they usually are very good at either getting the song listed with Harry Fox, or will provide you their standard compulsory mechanical license.I hope this helps.
