W9?
Hey all,Anybody ever been asked to fill out a W9? I've never had a library ask for my SS before, and I'm a bit leery about giving out that kind of info, especially to an up and coming library.Any thoughts?TIAz

Yes to your question. They need that info in case they end up paying you over a certain amount (600.00 I think?) and need to send you a 1099 form at the end of the year. What they would end up paying you for would probably be any upfront licensing fees. Any backend royalties would be paid by your PRO.HTH,Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Re: W9?
Not all require a W-9, some do (I'm not sure why honestly), but all require your SS# (or some other kind of TIN) unless they don't pay any upfront money or share of the sync fee, because otherwise they are legally required to file 1099's with the IRS.
