Anybody know how American PROs (I'm ASCAP) deal with music for network bumpers/promos? I actually read the ASCAP verbiage and still don't have a clue! I think it says this kind of short, recurring material is discounted, royalty-wise (i.e. it pays out less), but I am honestly not sure what all the terms in that verbiage mean. Anybody know? Always wondered about show themes as well - do they pay out less?
thanks in advance
Jon
EDIT: I'll take that as a 'no'! Might be a good subject for Taxi TV or the newsletter or something - royalties and how they work are a vital yet very mysterious subject!
Promo/Bumper cues royalties?
