Quirky, catchy, silly cues

Think this fits? Thanks! https://soundcloud.com/davidhollandswor ... the-tongue

QUIRKY, CATCHY INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a big Production Company’s NON-Exclusive, In-House Music Library for placements in a variety of media, including several of their popular Reality Shows. They’re looking for Cues that would be at home on a playlist with references like these:

“Sharp Little Guy” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtkK2W62hT4

“Let Me Tell You About My Boat” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KGsnvNA2OA

“Scrapping and Yelling” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LNHPakmSJ0

“Sparkplug Minuet” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bL5Ql-4nl8

Give them well-crafted, quirky Instrumental Cues in All Tempos that would support scenes and moods that can range from light-hearted to curious to mysterious to contemplative to busy, to fun… oh heck, just read what our client told us:

Quoting the client: Looking for Cues that are “…silly, mischievous, mysterious, fun, etc. These Cues should also aim to have an arc that takes the listener for a ride before bringing them back home. It would be great for the composers to be more creative on the harmonic and melodic front.”

We love the part that says, “…have an arc that takes the listener for a ride before bringing them back home.” Great advice for Cue construction in general!

The references point heavily to Mark Mothersbaugh, but that’s not a suggestion that you should copy what he does. Use his work more as a jumping off or starting point. Ask yourself, “If they would use a Cue like that, what could I create that a Music Supervisor or Editor would also be inclined to use in a situation or scene like that?” Be original!

We would recommend using mostly organic sounding acoustic instrumentation, but it’s not a hard, fast rule that says you can ONLY use acoustic instruments. Some dashes of electronic instrumentation could work, but the references seem to indicate that acoustic instruments should be favored. And for those of you who are going to ask if the vocalizations in Sparkplug Minuet indicate that they want vocals, the answer is; Vocals used as “instruments” that don’t have lyrics could work. That does not mean that every Cue should have them!

All Cues should be at least 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned endings are strongly recommended. Please do NOT copy the referenced music in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a general guide for texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine).

This company offers a NON-EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 deal. You’ll split any applicable sync fees 50/50. You’ll get 100% of the Master rights and Writer’s share, and the Library will get 100% of the Publishing for any placements they generate. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit for this opportunity. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), Saturday, May 27th, 2017. TAXI #D170527CI

I like it Dave!
I listened to 20 seconds of the first Ala by Mothersbaugh then listened to the first 30 of yours.
I would drop that tune in and mix to it. You have a lot more reverb and your Low hzs are a bit thicker
I would try to lose the reverb, but just guessing.
It's a winner!
