QUIRKY, LIGHT-HEARTED, ACOUSTIC-Based INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a boutique Music Library that gets tons of placements in TV Shows!

This Library wants Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references we got directly from them:

"Funny" by AShamaluevMusic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pQN2iBlgRo

Please submit top-notch Acoustic-based Instrumental Cues with an overall fun, quirky, feel-good vibe and sound. Craft your Cues around a singular motif, and create a sense forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress. Acoustic-based Instrumentation in the general style of the references will suit your submissions best – think foot stomps, handclaps, and plenty of bouncy energy. If you plan on using any virtual instruments or samples, please be sure they are high-quality, modern, and fresh.

NOTE: This Library is NOT after anything that sounds too "plucky, cartoon-y, or circus-y."

Your submissions should be approximately 2 minutes long, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best for this pitch. Do NOT copy the referenced acts or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

Hi Doug, I feel the Happy but not so much the quirky. Maybe a bit more staccato notes say from a Clarinet during the beginning melody. Just my 2cents
Nice work

Ron :)

Hey Ron, thanks for the feedback... I'll play around with it some more and try the clarinet idea to see if I can up the quirk factor!

Much appreciated,
Doug

Great work Douglas:-). I think that you have nailed the style.
One thing....
When I hear your mix, it's rather bass-heavy, compared to the reference track. I would dial a lot of 40-80 Hz out of the Kick and Bass and maybe turn them down a little. I think this style of music needs a lighter approach.

Best wishes

Dennis

Hey Dennis! Thanks for the feedback... I've remastered the track and dialed out some of the low frequencies, so hopefully that does the trick. Much appreciated! Doug

Yea man...this sounds like a winner. Any chance you could swap out the hip-hop kick drum with a stomp? That would make it sound more organic and more in line with what I'm hearing in ads lately.

Hi Jeff

Thanks your feedback.
I can try to swap out the kick. I have tried to remove a lot of top end so it's not so prominent in the Sound field.
What kind of stomp do you think would work?

Best regards

Dennis

Hi Jeff, and thanks for the vote of confidence! Yes, there's still time to change out the kick-- I'll do some experimenting to try and better match the reference. It's still got more low-end than the reference as well...

Really appreciate your feedback!
