Rally or much needed Studio Equipment Purchase?

I didn't realize until your last post that this discussion was all in the past. So I'm glad you decided to go to the Rally!

Here's an idea to consider while waiting for the day you can upgrade your libraries and gear. Concentrate on writing music that your current gear is best suited for. Even with crappy sounds, if you treat them right, you can make interesting and marketable music. There are hundreds and hundreds of free plugins available for downloading, and with the right type of processing of your current sounds, you can proudly and truthfully say "I meant my music to sound this way!" No one needs to know that the original sources were sub par.

Doing this accomplishes two things: It develops your programming and production skills, and it requires you to stretch your imagination and creativity in ways that some of the high end gear might not.

I thought it was best to update this post as a form of encouragement to others who might be in similar situation. Richard I have been following your advice making the best with what I have. Slowly I have been able to update the samples. Each new purchase has sonically improved previous music composed.
