Peter,

Hey, it's our annual celtic listing!

I think your tune works fine for this. Maybe you stripped out a vocal, but that 's OK cus the fiddle melody is strong by itself.

I need to get busy submitting something myself for this.

Thanks, Vince - did some 'tweaks' today; with one more to go (adding Uilleann pipes & low D whistle, I think);
also - it hit me that they needed to be re-titled.

Peter,

Very nice- I like the pipes. Not sure I like them at the very start of the intro where they are droning out-of-tune and it's noticeable. Maybe leave them out of the intro- they sound great when they come in on the unison part with the fiddles and whistles. Real piper? I know a guy who plays Irish pipes, but I'm not going to call him until I can pay him :)

Low D whistle is a great instrument- I own it but I can't play it because the holes on it are freakin huge and my hands aren't big enough.

Best,

VInce

Great to see you at the Rally Peter!
Great Mixes
IMHO
"At the Pub" - could use a driving percussion like a Boron with sticks, would improve it's chances
"Humours..." - doesn't feel strong/defined enough to classify as Celtic for TV, you know it is but John Q Public isn't as schooled.
"Whiskey...1" - There's the Boron! Doesn't feel strong/defined enough to classify as Celtic for TV Tune and is in a high register that will counter any dialogue
"Whiskey...2" - This mix has a slightly better chance since you mixed it Darker (more mid-range)
Great playing and mixes
Cheers!

Cass - thanks for the ears.
Regarding use of the bodhran, I attend & play at many Trad Seisiuns that do not have any percussion. So - with the other tracks having included one,
I made the decision to leave it out for this one.
Also - unlike most genres of Western/American music - in Trad music, I have discovered, the rhythm guitar, bodhran, and mandolin play a way more subdued role - there, but not pronounced. I guess I'll have to rely on the Screener's knowledge & discretion of what & which will be suitable for the listing.

THANK YOU - great to see you in L.A, too! You didn't bring your tuba, though, Bro!? :? ;)

Great stuff.

Reminds me, a cousin who is a fiddle player visited once, we went to a bunch of Irish pubs in San Francisco where she sat in. It was kind of like blues jams; call out the key and the tempo, everyone knew what to do :)
