Response time on dispatch listings

Post by zircon » Mon Jan 08, 2007 12:51 pm

If you get forwarded to one, what is the typical amount of time you can expect to go by before you get a response? A week? A month? I would imagine it has to be shorter than a normal listing if it's supposed to be a time-sensitive thing.

It varies from case to case. Remember the use of Dispatch just means the company wants to GET material real fast...doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna SIGN it or USE it fast.Sometimes there's a clue in the wording of the listing. Another thing to remember is that many film and tv productions are subject to the "hurry-up-and-wait" phenomenon... Matt

As always, very helpful matto. I never thought to look at it from the angle of fast acquisition != fast usage.
