Retain signed tracks in member profile?

Post by svegliando » Sun Jan 29, 2023 2:11 pm

Hello All,

I'm relatively new to Taxi and happy to be here. The returns have been a very good experience for me. I have managed to sign a few tracks through forwards and am wondering what the general consensus/practice is on whether or not they should still reside in your profile. Obviously if they are exclusive, you can't submit them again. However, should they be removed OR somehow marked as unavailable (albeit visible as examples of your work)?

Thanks!

Doug

Some libraries could have strict rules in your contract barring the tracks from being posted outside of their library, so that's something to keep in mind.

For me personally I try to remove them once signed, but I haven't always been that diligent about it taking them down.

It depends on the library. Some are OK with the tracks being on sites like this, Soundcloud, etc. Some want them removed from everywhere. You could make them private on your Taxi page (uncheck Public and Downloadable) if you want them there for your own future reference. There's probably no reason to keep them on your Taxi page since you are not going to submit them anymore. Up to you. As far as sites like SC, Bandcamp, and other hosting sites, ask the library. Some even let you place the songs in non-sync related entities like streaming (Spotify, etc.), selling CDs & downloads, pitching to artists, etc.

And congrats on the deals! 8-)
