Hi PauliePaulie wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 8:20 amSo, the best way to get successful at TV cues is to watch a lot of tv, listen carefully to the music being used, take notes regarding instrumentation and style, and then create music in the genres that you are most comfortable with.AudiniAudio wrote: ↑Tue Jun 15, 2021 5:30 pmSo I want to try my hand at TV and movie cues. After I get busy on that I'd like to also be able to focus on Taxi listings.
You might try focusing on Taxi listings sooner than later, because the feedback you receive from screeners can be very helpful. Combine that with posting your music here in the forum and you can learn a ton, as well as prevent wasting a lot of time trying to do things on your own.
Once your music is up to the proper level of quality you can start submitting to libraries directly. But, be smart about it, do your research first. Fins shows that use the type of music you write, then create a few tracks for a demo playlist that you can pitch. Watch the credits at the end of these shows and you can sometimes find out which libraries the show gets is music from. Then you can pitch them, but only do so by following their submission rules and by making sure your music is worthy. Don't want to burn any bridges.![]()
This is great advice. I was reading in your bio and i see that you compose in several genres. Could you name some current reality shows that use hiphop-trap/Edm cues? The reason I'm asking is because I've been making my research but a lot of the reality shows that use cues in those genres are dated so they are re-runs like Love and hiphop, basketball wives, Atlanta Exes, Black ink Crew Etc......
So maybe if you can name some current shows it would be really helpful.
