So sad...

Post by Onaginoffegin » Wed Jul 19, 2017 11:28 am

Death of a Loved One, I'm Lost Without You, & Sad and Lonely were forwarded for the listing below.

All three are new and were composed specifically for the listing.

Death of a Loved One is unusual in that the right hand just plays a two-note ostinato throughout. I wasn't sure it would get a forward based on that.

Sad and Lonely can be found via the SC link below; the other two can be found on my TAXI page.

ORIGINAL SAD PIANO INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a prominent Music Library with a super long history of TV and Film placements. They’re looking for Down-to-Mid-Tempo Instrumental Cues that could work as sad underscore placements in a TV shows and Films. Please listen to the following references to get yourself in the general stylistic ballpark for this pitch: “It’s Hard to Say Goodbye” by Michael Ortega: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_Am4cHMBKM “Into the Dark” by Sebastian Larsson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19L9Z11D3K8 “Isolation” by Lucas King: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVTP0DOL_2Q Please submit well-played, well-recorded Piano Instrumental Cues that would work well in scenes featuring funerals, break-ups, and other moments that show characters dealing with pain and loss. Your Cues should stick to one mood, tempo, and motif from beginning to end. Speaking of endings: your Cues should have a non-faded ending with a natural ring out. You can have additional instrumentation in your piece (like cello, harp, bells, etc.) as long as it’s MINIMAL, with the piano being the featured instrument. Real pianos are always best, but great sounding samples or virtual instruments that are expertly articulated with awesome emotional expression will work as well. Please avoid submitting anything that sounds synth-y, obviously quantized, or compositionally complex – keep it simple, sadly emotional, and human sounding! All submissions should be about 2:00 minutes in length, give or take, with non-faded endings. Do NOT copy the references in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, texture and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal. You’ll split any upfront sync fees 50/50. They’ll get 100% of the Publisher’s share, and you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Copyright. Since this is an EXCLUSIVE deal, please be sure the material you submit for this pitch is NOT already signed with any other Libraries or Catalogs. Please submit one to three Instrumental Cues online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis - No full critiques. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Wednesday, July 12th, 2017. TAXI #D170712PI

Congrats on the success, Henry.
FWIW - of the three - it was I'm Lost Without You that grabbed me right from the beginning - it has an 'enchanting' quality about it.
WTG, Amigo.
You gonna attend the RR in November?

Thanks Alasdair.
I'm pretty sure this was a Dispatch listing.
