SOMBER DRAMEDY...how'd I do?

Post by BrentI » Thu Mar 10, 2022 2:33 pm

Hey all, any thoughts about my new track before I submit to this listing? Always appreciate the feedback and chance to improve. Thanks!

DARK HUMOR/SOMBER DRAMEDY INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by an EXCLUSIVE Music Library that's connected with many TV Production Companies and Showrunners for a Major Network Show!

This Library is looking for Instrumental Cues in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

"Dark Comedy Central" by Jim Ellis - https://youtu.be/LQyNOyO-yis

"Anytime Cello" by Alain Grange - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-AYOko6ckA

"Slinky Slurp Monster" by musicinmind3 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Whz_bicqkwU

Quoting the Library: "We are not looking for standard Dramedy cues. We are after more tongue-in-cheek, minimalist, and sparse Dramedy, with lower register options that are darker. Please do not add electronic beats / electronic drums or percussion of any kind."

Please submit well-composed Dramedy Instrumental Cues with solid motifs, top-notch, minimalist arrangements, and an overall dark, sombre tone. Instrumentation that is generally similar to the references will suit your submissions best. Craft your Cues around a singular motif and mood, and create a sense of forward momentum and dynamics by layering instrumentation in and out as they progress. Please be sure your production and any software sounds or samples you use are high-quality and current-sounding – nothing dated or obviously MIDI-driven will work.

All submissions should be at least 90 seconds long, and can run up to 2 minutes (a little bit longer is fine). Well-crafted, buttoned/stinger endings are required – do NOT submit anything with faded endings. Do NOT copy the referenced tracks in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.

Thanks for the encouragement Omar! A good bit of the instruments are Logic patches, but I am using a little bit of the Orchestral Core from Nucleus, as well as the Free Orchestra. I'm also using a VST from 8DIO for the clarinet.
