Some Good Small Amps?

Just found out they have Bugera's at my local dealer. Gotta try the wire on one of those!

They have a lot of different models. From 5 watts on up.
I only paid $279 for mine.

In my video I had it in triode or half power mode.
This thing can be real loud if you want.

I didn't spent a lot of time on my vid, but the amp is real versatile.

look up MESA BOOGIE mark IV 12" combo. I believe they are out of production now. Ebay always has them.

Very versitile amp.

I have a Mark II with a 12". I agree this is a very useful amp for lots of stuff! As far as my amp goes, THAT may be my understatement of the year...

Ha! Buy a ten in. spkr cab, get a free mini amp! The Bugera gets a pretty happenin' tone, despite being a [horrors!] Behringer product, but you might prefer to use a power amp input to bypass the preamp and tone stack, so as to preserve your Boss GT-8's tone, and several of the amps mentioned, including the Vox and Bugera, don't have one. I'd look at a solid-state bass or keyboard amp, first, unless you can globally bypass the modeling in the GT-8. (and do so quickly and easily)

Injecting a fully-modeled (amp, cab, mic) tone into the front end of a miked tube combo amp is likely to sound odd, unless your floor effector provides for it. My X3L provides correct levels/impedance for using either the front (gtr level) or rear (line level/power amp) inputs on either a closed or open-backed combo, and it's selectable per-patch, don't know if your Boss product does this.

I tried the Vox Night Train and Egnater Tweaker before the Bugera V22.
All sound good, Bugera has way more features, (combo vs. head for one) and cost less.
I've also used a Boss GT-3 in front and in the FX loop with good results.

That's good to know! An "all tube non-modelling" amp is on my short list, and the list is really short because of money considerations! I've been using the 15 watt Vox Valvetronix which I think is very good for the money . . . BUT you have to be very careful of the treble boost/gain relationship or it starts to get a case of digititus. I'm ready for an all tube no digital nonsense amp.

BTW I've made some decent recordings with a little Roland Micro-Cube too! Those are ok for somethings as long as you mic it. It can sound too thin direct in.

Might be too pricey for this thread but Dr Z makes incredible hand wired, all tube, no-nonsense amps and for what they are they are reasonably priced. I have the Z-28, a step down in power and price would be the Carmen-ghia:

Ha ha...in my youtube vid I posted on the 1st page, you can see I have a Valvetronix as well.
It does lots of stuff well.
It had been years since I had an all tube amp and didn't want to spend $1000 for something to noodle around with.
The V22 fits the bill nicely.
I think the Vox Night Train and especially Lil' Train are too small to gig with, which is what the OP was askin' 'bout.
