Song placed!

Post by chrisbee » Wed Dec 12, 2007 8:53 pm

Howdy, forum mates! I had a song forwarded back in Sept which led to signing a publishing deal for 4 jazz tunes I had written. The guy is open to getting even more from me, but I wanted to see if anything would come of this small batch of tunes before sending more - and YES! Today I got the word, the Weather Channel will be playing one of my tunes in regular rotation for a month! One month is their normal rotation cycle. This is fantastic news to me. I had landed one big (OK, huge...) deal thru TAXI over two years ago. But since then, though I have landed several small deals, none of these little ones have actually generated any placements for me on tv or in film yet. So though this is only one song for now (albeit played a whole bunch of times!!!), it means a whole lot to me.Cheers y'all!cb

CONGRATS Chris! So is it a fair weather or stormy weather song? Just so we can send a few sacrifices in the general direction of the weather gods to try to get you some more plays

GREAT to hear your news, Chris. Let's hope it's an all-winter kinda song and will stay in rotation for a while...Ted
