composition sounds appropriate; personally, I like it a lot; very good.
If it were mine to mix, here's what I'd change/try:
1) bring the baritone guitar up - more out-front, about where you have the vocal choral thing happening;
2) push the choral part back and quieter - where the guitar 'was'... in other words, exchange their priority.
3) do an alternate mix with it more uptempo - ref. the theme from "Bonanza" for bpm.
Hope that's helpful; good luck.

Thank you for the response; I hope you will post up any revised-version mix you make.
It would help me test & teach my own ears too for this style.
Cheers,
Peter

Very nice work on this Pete! It sounds right in the ballpark to me. I love the guitar, and the theme starting at :38. I felt the first 30 seconds were a bit confusing melodically, and there was a lot going on. Maybe start more simply from :30 on? Also, the ending just peters out, and I was expecting a big epic finish. Hope that's helpful, and good luck with this one!

Thank's for the comments, I hear what you mean now you've mentioned it re: intro and ending, so i'll take a look at those.
Thanks,
Pete.

Re: Spaghetti western - feedback
Pete,
I'm no expert on this genre, but I am a big fan of Morricone, so I'll weigh in anyway.
I think it starts to develop well from :50 to the end, and I like how it builds.
Prior to :50 I found it confusing: maybe guitar was fighting with guitar for the focus, and maybe too much going on?
The strummed guitar sounds fake to me, and that could be a problem. Orchestral stuff sounds good. Maybe get someone
to strum a real guitar? I think you need that "cowboy" thing of real guitar, strummed by the campfire, etc
I would start out with few orchestral elements, and bring guitar into focus, as Peter R suggested above, and always make it clear where the focus is.
It's OK to have things simple: you don't need the orchestra to be constantly changing chords underneath. And if guitar has focus, bring down the violins, and vice-versa
You've nailed the orchestral sound near the end. Nice job!
Vince

Hi I don't know much, but I think the voices only at the start might work. carry on
