I rarely, rarely comment but I had to on this one. This sounds like you copied a Hugo Montenegro song and put it over a little drum loop. If that's what they wanted, you succeeded.

As I recall, Hugo did the "whistling" with a Moog. George Harrison did the same thing on Here Comes the Sun.

I have quite a few Old West lyrics. If you ever wanna do an actual song with this vibe, let me know.

Hi Matt -

Although I really enjoyed this, I think it may not match the "tone and overall vibe" of the references closely enough. They may be looking for hip-hop in the instrumentation (in which case, the whistling for example may not fit) and Ennio Morricone only in the motifs. ("Instrumentation in the general style of the references will suit your submissions best – think Ennio Morricone-styled motifs paired with Hip-Hop beats.")

Hope I'm wrong though! Good luck with it!

I'd agree with what Matt said on another post about the examples not being the best..

Buck 65 made an entire album of basically "Spaghetti Western" here's one of the tracks

And Guts remixed and made this track from the Jango movie

I will say that I think they are looking for more of 90's style beat. All the examples are artists from the 90's. :?:

It was a fun day had by all.

The girls even ate some Italian food . . . pizza (loosely described) NOT Spaghetti.

Great working with you Matt. :)

Definitely spaghetti trap. :) Did not hear the references provided but I think the snares could be a little more crisp and current, they sound a little dated to me. Cymatics to the rescue? :)
