Submitting to INVESTIGATIVE TENSION INSTRUMENTAL CUES

Post by Horacemix » Thu Sep 06, 2018 9:54 am

Hello!
I found this listing and I thought I could send a track that was returned for another listing. https://soundcloud.com/horace-mix/horac ... n-building
I'd have to enlarge the length of the track, and probably that will result in another new part after the current ending, and probably a few other changes that may come from instant inspiration.
I'd like to know if any of you agree with me that this track I'm willing to send could fit well to this listing request...

Thanks in advance for your comments!
Regards!

The listing:
INVESTIGATIVE TENSION INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a New, High-End Music Library recently started by the CEO of another successful company. They’re looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Instrumental Cues that would be heard in Crime Dramas and Feature Films and fall within the general stylistic range of the following references we got directly from the company:

Song/Instrumental Reference 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_0LH-5 ... e=youtu.be

Song/Instrumental Reference 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPLIqJ2 ... e=youtu.be

Song/Instrumental Reference 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A8baiz ... e=youtu.be

NOTE: The bar is going to be high for this request, as this Music Library will be distributed through a MAJOR Publisher and will be looking for excellent composers for this catalog!

Please submit well-crafted Instrumental Cues that would help support suspenseful, tension-filled scenes in Crime-related TV Shows and Films! Build your Cues around a simple, central, tension-inducing melody that will sit easily behind a scene’s dialogue, while adding new elements as it progresses to create a sense of forward movement and development. Having gentle pulses, clock-like ticks, arpeggiated leads, and droning synth pads are all possibilities for this request! Please make sure any instrumentation you use isn't stock or “cheesy” sounding. If you use orchestral samples, they’ll need to be really well-executed.

Quoting The Music Library Owner: “The quality I’m looking for must be high! What I mean by this is: - High production value. - ‘Sophisticated’ sounds & arrangements (see examples). - Can have a somewhat ‘artistic’ approach in terms of the sound aesthetics, but the cue needs to be licensable/usable for music library licensing.”

All submissions should be at least 2 minutes in length, with Non-Faded, Button/Stinger endings. Please do NOT copy the referenced examples in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, texture, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast quality is needed.

This Music Library offers an EXCLUSIVE deal with a cool twist. You’ll keep 50% of all gross income generated by your music, plus you’ll get 100% of the Writer’s share income generated by your PRO. In other words, if the company licenses your music under a blanket deal, you’ll get income. If they license it for a YouTube video, you’ll get income. Not all music libraries pay you for things like that! The Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher’s share.

Because this is an Exclusive deal, the music you submit for this pitch cannot already be signed with any other Libraries or Publishers. You must own or control 100% of your Master and Composition rights. Please send as many Instrumental Cues as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis – Short critiques only. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59PM (PDT), on Sunday, September 9th, 2018. TAXI #Y180909CI

Hi Horacemix,

I really like it...up until 1:13....right then it looses the investigative tension vibe...that little extra part that comes in on 3 of each measure takes something away.

Besides that...I like the glitchy feel to it!

My 2 cents,
Tim

Hi! Thanks for your words!
Good advise! I'll maintain the main vibe after 1:13. Maybe adding variations and some new layered elements!

Thanks again!
