Success via this forum
Hi everyone,
I have been a little less active on the forum for some time, but I wanted to share some success stemming from here. I started my music production journey (no prior knowledge), joined Taxi and this forum 5.5 years ago, but have not been a TAXI member for 1.5 years (I think). Mostly, I learned producing from the feedback of this forum and from the TAXI feedback. I never got into a library through my few TAXI forwards, but the contracts I have all stem from connections and information throught this very forum (free, but it has great value!).
The first time I got to know about a TV placement was 1.5 years ago via Tunesat. Since then, I had 71 detections there, with a total of only 15 tracks in decent libraries, but the actual number of placements is (possibly considerably) higher, because via BMI (and, yes, I got my first check already) I know that I have placements e.g. in Japan or on U.S. radio that my free Tunesat account does not track.
To share some highlights - this here (00:27 - 2:23) is an almost two minute (drone-y) placement that ran on Germany's No. 1 channel during prime time and has since been repeated three times:
https://www.ardmediathek.de/video/ard-c ... S8xOTIzNDg
With another track, on Dutch TV2 Echo, I had a 53-sec placement on "Diamantfamilien" - something like their version of KUWTK. It has been repeated 6(!) times already.
With forum member and guitar genius Andre Stepanian I had this placement (38:21 - 38:54), with 4 showings in total:
https://www.ndr.de/fernsehen/sendungen/ ... 48612.html
As possibly true so often, my two best-placed tracks are very simple - one is a "pulsing piano", the other one almost a drone. Nothing fancy, they just work for the purpose.
A final thought: I have never spend any money on a DAW (Cakewalk was for free until recently) or any VIs, plugins, or samples. I did spend some money on decent headphones, but this is the proof that you do not need a lot of money to produce at a level that gets you into TV and radio.
Thanks to all my forum buddies (and for their patience) for commenting on my tracks over the years!
Thanks to Michael Laskow and the TAXI team for this forum!

Thanks Andre and Mark.
Maybe 5.5 years of coaching me have worn him down?

When I saw the last reply "Cosmicdolphin" right away I was excited and was looking forward to read the the comments and only to find out "Well done Tom". as Casey said "what is going on" are you okay, maybe tired or gave up, oh well I hope you come back to the "Cosmicdolphin" we are all used to and if you don't that's okay it was fun, the new comers will never experience the real "Cosmicdolphin".
