Suggestions for selling gear?

Post by JohnnyP » Mon Nov 16, 2020 4:20 pm

Hey folks,

I'm looking to clear out some of my gear from my days on the road. Mostly bass oriented. Amps, preamps, outboard gear, a 1970's Marshall Tucker Road case, some vintage pedals like a "like new" Tom Shultz's Bass Rockman an original Bassball stomp box, you get the picture.

Is Reverb still the place or Ebay? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, John

Since eBay is an auction (and a buddy of mine nearly makes his living there) - if you or a helper has time to monitor that;
it might yield the best 'bang for the buck'.
I've purchased new & used gear from eBay - so far, no glitches.
Good luck.

Hi John...although I have never sold anything yet on Reverb yet but I think it is great from what I hear, the other option if you are on FB is to post on the "Market place" and let Taxi members know as well.. I have sold a bunch of stuff on FB and no middle man. If you are not on FB you can always use a family members to post.

Good luck

I've had really good luck both buying and selling on Reverb. No complaints. I've also had success with non-musical gear on Nextdoor, selling locally.

Thanks Ethan. I just posted a drum machine on Reverb to see how it goes. I like their fees which appear to be lower than Ebay. It's the heavy or bulky stuff like My Gallien Krueger 800-RB, an old Crown power amp and some older Peavey amps that will prob have to go locally. Thanks again. John
