Taxi's "Studio Buddy"
I just sent a comment to another member about some simple ways to mic live horns, and I remembered where I actually learned how to record live brass instruments myself...... right here on Taxi.
Taxi has a hidden gem for recording tips, studio secrets, and miking magic. And I think it's largely gone unnoticed and under-promoted by Taxi. But it's a true gold mine of information. And it's free. It's called "Studio Buddy".
If you haven't checked it out, it's worth peeking at before you record your next live instrument:

Re: Taxi's "Studio Buddy"
Hi Matt,
I tried to download Studio Buddy in my early days at Taxi about 3-4 years ago but the links on the web site mostly showed 'Not Found'. I'd forgotten about it since then but on re-visiting now it appears that nothing has changed and Studio Buddy is still unavailable. Do you know whether the content is available elsewhere? Thanks

Graham (UK). Still composing a little faster than decomposing, and 100% HI.

Shoot, I swear that link was working the other day. But now I'm getting a "404 Page Not Found" error too. Weird.

Re: Taxi's "Studio Buddy"
I e-mailed Taxi about this and here is the response:
Thanks for your email. That is a very old site that TAXI has since taken down.

I found the .exe and tested it on Windows 10. It seems to be working fine! Thanks for mentioning this. I like how it's all in one place.

Wow. Tons of great info in that ol' dog. Stoked that it still exists, for some folks. I'm pretty sure ML had a lot to do with that, cuz the advice may be old school but it's all still relevant.

Thanks!

Re: Taxi's "Studio Buddy"
I DL Studio Buddy many years before I got serious and joined Taxi. I remember it was a very useful tool.
Thanks,
