"Tell us more about the genre"
What do you all put int the" tell us more about the genre' box when uploading music?
Do you write a scenario, or just tag words, emotions, all of the stated?
When listening to TAXI TV, it is always stated to include your personal contact information, where do you all put that,
or does TAXI put that all in for us?
I have just stared submitting some cues.
Thanks

Re: "Tell us more about the genre"
I would love to hear from other member on this question too.
I have been trying to fill out maybe some sub-divisions of the genre - when appropriate. I think we only have a couple of choices of Folk, for example. But maybe it is a Folk tune with Americana influences . . . or Indie . . . or Electro, etc. When that is the case, I have been adding that extra identifying information. I have occasionally put an "artist name" when I feel the track has something in common with them.
Again, I would love to know what other folks are doing.

Hey y’all. How’s it going Johnny?
I’ve just been putting really brief descriptions in there. When you’re searching through the drop down menu at genres it’s pretty broad. Hip hop for example. So I might say “Dark, trap style, hip hop instrumental cue”.
To be honest, I have a hard time seeing how it could matter at all. The screener knows what the listing is and they listen to your song in that context. Maybe Taxi has some plans for compilations in the future and want to be able to pull up appropriate tracks.
The tags, as stated, are for our own use right? So no worries there.
The other way to tag your song would be through meta data, which I’ve been advised to do. I’m
not sure that it survives the upload process though, as I’ve downloaded my tracks myself to test it and those tracks have lost the metadata I entered by the time I get them downloaded. Also, I put different contact information in there to see if anyone would respond to that info and they’ve always just contacted me using the info Taxi has on file for me. I still add it every time though and of course always when sending MP3 preview files when requested by a library. I think it just makes you look pro and thus potentially less of a headache for the library owner.
For metadata info check out this super informative Taxi TV. You can skip to around 16:47 if you’re busy.
