The panelists LOVED my song BABY PUNCH MY FACE, but what happens next?

Post by TheWildManChris2000 » Wed Nov 21, 2018 8:45 pm

:? My song was played for the panelist at the rally, AND ALL 5 A& R PANELISTS LOVED IT, and the entire audience went WILD!
Unfortunately, I have not heard from anyone since.

I mean, the panelists all wanted a copy. What happens next, if anything at all?

Should I pitch BABY PUNCH MY FACE to the TAXI listings, but here's the problems.

1.) Every freaking listing asks for BROADCAST QUALITY! I have no clue how to get my stuff broadcast quality! I thought it was whether the song was a HIT or not.
2.) I am too poor to be able to afford $10 per pitch! Used to be $5. And $20 for a custom critique so I can better the song?

Geez, I am so lost, dazed, and confused. Should I be excited, or should I come back down to reality?
:? :? :? :? :? :? :?
Well, I could stop bitchin' and start panhandling again, that's the spirit.

:?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

I mean, I remember in 2000 in a karaoke contest, I rapped BABY GOT BACK. I had the crowd loudly roaring, but... I didn't win 1st and 2nd or 3rd place.
I mean, I got spirit, but have I got the goods? Am I really legit?
Am I a legitimate ENTERTAINER, or just cheap amusement?
Everyone says on I AM FUNNY AS HELL, but... I want to be REAL! ANY clown can get people to laugh at him. The lowest form of entertainer is a comedian.
Do I need cosmetic surgery to make me more marketable? Image is HUGE these days. Talent, well, just listen to what's being played today and... you decide.
At the rally, in 2010, I was told I did NOT have the look of an artist.

That was ok in the 80s, when our artists looked uglier than death AND WE STILL LOVED THEM. This is the 3rd Millennia. If you ain't young and good-looking, it is 1,000,000 times harder to make it.

      Ironically, I am trying to get a song in the charts top-10 IS I CAN get stem cells, cosmetic surgery.

People keep telling me to believe in myself, and then they abandon me to myself. It ain't easy being lonely. Not even Michael Jackson could do it ALL BY HIMSELF. ONLY GOD can do it BY HIMSELF!
Maybe I will write a song called "A FACE to DIE for and LOOKS That KILL" and call it punk-rap like BABY Punch My Face.

Katy Perry says she sold her soul to the devil(audio in sync)
https://youtu.be/8ZGoixVlrKE

Oh well, Katy Perry sold her soul and went from crummy nameless gospel singer to super pop stardom. I sell my soul to, unless GOD will do it for me, even if this is not what HE wants for me. Israel wanted a king like all the other nations. God thru the prophet Samuel said, "I am your king." Israel said, "We want A HUMAN KING!" God said, "Ok, but it will come with a painful price and, there will be turning back once I give you what you want."

I don't want to sell my soul but, I will do what I have to do.

Think about it!

Success = STEM CELLS! NO more aches in pains! No more people asking if I am drunk because my speech! Maybe even good-looking girls by my side! It's all about ROCK N ROLL, and hot chicks and money, and being happy. My happiness now is incomplete, tainted with disability and pain, and hope, but it had better come quick! I am old, and half-way dead. Being middle-aged is no fun when your emotions say "DANCE! GO GO GO!" when you got a decrepit body screaming, "NO NO NO!"

Hey Chris!
I hear ya...
It WAS my favorite moment of the Road Rally
The excitement at the rally was a big push of momentum!
Now for the art of gaining more.
I've listened to the tune once since the Rally and pondered over it.
My initial feeling was that the mix was 70% there
Also I felt that the song structure lost the great punchline (pun) halfway in and that it didn't get back in fast enough so my ears/thoughts trailed off

Here is my offer (completely free) if you are willing: I'll PM you my email if you do the same for a shared Dropbox file
I'll take a stab at mixing it (free, no rights)
Post your tune in Peer to Peer for song structure advice (I think it needs to be stronger after it's initial impact)
I can cut it up and rearrange per your advice
I can cut up a version per my taste
We can try to build on the momentum
But it needs to happen fast!!!
Before memories fade
Sincerely
Cass

Hey Chris
Congrats on your rally success! You lit up the room!

It's been only a few weeks since the rally. This is an incredibly slow moving and competitive business so you may hear from someone in weeks, months, years, or never. That's the realities of the world we live in. DO NOT contact Taxi or any of the panelists about this as that would only alienate people. Patience and remain cautiously optimistic. :D

I definitely think you should take Cass up on his offer! Get a solid, broadcast recording of your track!! You da man, Cass! :D

Also, never stop pitching ANY song until you have a deal.

Happy Thanksgiving!
:D Casey

Great response. The only thing I would add is to continue writing songs as you indicated you only have one song. Write at least 10 more in that pocket and other vibes. Having more than one song readily available will make one a lot more viable! Being appreciated
by the panel for a song would motivate me to write many more in that vain.
Cheers!

There's a 'lottery winner' right there; bless you Brother Cass.
The TAXI mantra doesn't pick the winners or losers: it's more of a mission statement that applies equally:
write, submit, forget, and something else... I don't remember.
Good luck to you all.

Yes!
I am hella willing!
Thank you immensely. I'd love you to mix it.
My email is christopher102172@gmail.com.
Please get me your email too.

I have no clue how to PM on this site. How do I get YOUR PM's? I am so sorry for my being a moron, but I am willing to learn.

I also think I need to rerecord the vocals. There was at least one mistake in the song played at the rally.
What is this Dropbox thingy you mentioned?
Just email me first, and we will go from there, step by step, ASAP

Thanks, Sincerely
Wild Man Chris.

To send a PM.
Place the cursor over the user's name just below their avatar/photo - it should highlight - click onto that to get to the PM message page.
There will be a place to type in a subject line in reply to Cass...
then send your info.
HTH.
Good luck.

Echoing what others have already said, never wait by the metaphorical phone so to speak for a call back. I have a few forwards that turned into deals and some I haven't ever heard back from, but I kept making music and writing in the meantime.

I'm sure that the same principle would apply from panelists hearing, liking, and wanting your song at the Road Rally. Just keep at it. Something might happen, something might not. You never know. You never want to bank on one potential opportunity because that opportunity may never come to pass.

Thank you for that moment at the Rally though Chris, it was very memorable!
