The Rally mindset?

Was just thinking about how, in songwriting, YOU (we) want to get the YOU into the song lyric as soon as possible.

How might this apply to the pay-if-forward persona for which TAXI is known? (edit: the Grammar Police were here - me )
Then I had this idea - counter intuitive to all or most of us wanting to discover WHAT CAN I GET OUT OF THIS?

How about a rally mindset, and conversation starter that goes something like this:

How can YOU (edit: and/or your company) benefit...
from working with me; creating, producing, presenting & earning from new songs & music...?

Well - actually - no.
I'm suggesting - don't say "I" or "me/my/mine" before you make it about them first: YOU first.

Funny, before I even read your post I started thinking about my goals for going to the RR this year. I think this is 5 or 6 for me (I'd have to look back at my lanyard collection) but not to sound too selfish, I'm going to see who wants to purchase my services. In RR past, I've been looking mostly at how to improve my craft and get placements, as well as what services do I need (books, newsletters, etc.) My main focus is still improving my craft to get placements, but I'm not looking for other's services as much this year.

If I can meet at least one person that I can get interested in my services (songs), then I have met a main goal of mine for going this year.

This is also the first year I'm staying in the main ballroom for all the sessions on Sat. I hope to see you there!
