The Suspense is Killing Me!

Post by mazz » Thu Sep 06, 2007 7:38 am

Not really but here's a piece I just finished and submitted:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueThe Owner of a new Music Library needs a wide range of DRAMA INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) for MYSTERY/SUSPENSE/HORROR SCENES for use in film/TV/commercials, etc. I imagine a person or persons running away from some scary thing and ending up in a big cave type space and then having to run again. Kind of like Blade or something along those lines.Enjoy,Mazz

Very nice job guys.Great scary action music in your cue, John, I only wonder if that middle section might be too drastic of a contrast and thus limit the cue's useability for library purposes.Dave, yours works well for me, nice suspense feel, good development without becoming too obtrusive.FWIW...matto

I loved both. Mazz, yours got me right at the outset, very dramatic. I agree a bit with matto on the calmer bit but I see the imagery you're talking about (how many horror films, etc, try to dull the suspense and then have the guy jump outta the closet? LOTS).Dave, great job.......like Halloween meets Jaws meets Jason Bourne. (I wonder if that's the film! )

I thought I'd try my hand it this too. I'm not sure if the first one will make it... but I'm kinda proud of #2.#1 - "Apparition" - slightly discordant suspense/horror orchestration...http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=true#2 - "Nightmare in Avalon" - an atmospheric fusion of classical, rock-pop and Goth...http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... am=trueHey - I even figured out how to link directly to the songs! Yeah Dave, I really like your ability to show restraint and still have stuff is boiling under the surface!! Good work!!I questioned the wisdom of putting that soft eerie section in the middle of my piece but I decided to see what the feedback from the screener was going to be. I have a feeling that, as matto said, there's too much contrast for the intended customer but we'll see. I have a millon more of those in my psyche so next time I'll keep it more consistent.......MMMMMUUUUUUUHahahahahahhhhaa Thanks for listening!!Mazz

I've also submitted to this listing. Sorry I can't listen/comment on Mazz and Vikki's work (I'm always getting an error message from the taxi hosting pages), but I'm sure they are of the high standards we are used to.Dave's track is the only one I can listen to, and shows as always an impeccable quality. Cool! In the Hallway:http://www.broadjam.com/artists/artist_ ... 13891Alien Armada:http://www.broadjam.com/artists/artist_ ... X=13891Not sure if Facedances fits the listing, as it might be too much drama

Alien Armada - cool industrial sort of vibe, good stuff. I'm not sure if the end is a 'button ending' but may be close enough. I really like FaceDances as well, good build & nice flow. All three sound FAB to me!CheersHummin'birdPS - my stuff is also on my website....Apparition is - http://www.vikkiflawith.com/song/6Nightmare in Avalon is - http://www.vikkiflawith.com/song/8
