Its my photo or Avatar URL for Forum posts. Another Forum member can post my image from my URL and I can paste the URL into IE and can see it!!! BUT... in my User Control Panel, on the tab where you add an Avatar gives me a An Invalid URL type error!
Well it can't be if another member can swap it out for his and it will display... and it can be seen in IE.

Anyone experiencing similar issues? Is it the recent work on the website? It could be... :?

BTW - I have posted this error in General Hangout but any additional ideas are welcome
Hey Fuzzbox, Anna posted a great fix for this issue that a few members were having:

In other words, things are much more complex than you expect behind the scenes. If you knew, you'd understand why things appear as they do.

Web site migrations are complicated, especially when moving from old-school BBS platforms to something like WordPress, Joomla, or others in the same category. It is frustrating for users at times, but as long as we know the migration to something better is taking place we should all be able to deal with it. There is a concern that new users might find it annoying, especially in today's ADD instant gratification world, but if they aren't willing to dig a little, perhaps they don't have the drive to do what is needed to succeed here?

After all, are we really complaining about a few extra clicks? See the CK Louis video about people on planes whining because the wifi goes out. :)

Dear Michael,

I don't feel good about it, rather awful for that sentence... I want to tell you my apologies as my post sounded too offensive, personal so that you felt insulted. :( You are totally right on that, this wasn't professional and not appropriate!

Overall I am more than happy with the service of Taxi Music. (That's why I subscribed for two year in June). On that particular evening I have spent long hours composing a track and the deadline came closer and closer and the website just had errors in many ways as described. So I was quite upset. This was a classic moment of learning not to write a mail or post when you are still totally upset, but better wait for the next day.

It is great to hear that you guys are working on a total overhaul of the site. This is really great news and what I was hoping for. Better take your time and focus on usability. Cheers...

Regarding streaming. Wouldn't Youtube or Twitch be an alternative? Not sure about that and if they have all the features you need.

I would really look forward to inviting you for a beer (or two) at the road rally to shake your hand and tell you a personal sorry! Could that be a deal?

All the best and keep it up,
Chris

Hey Chris,

If I see you at the Road Rally I'll buy you a beer to say "good job on owning your mistake" :)

I think most of us have been there before (I once sent a company-wide email at 4am on what was supposed to be my last day at a job, after which I was invited to take my belongings and not bother finishing the day!) and ideally learn from it. Better that you did this on the TAXI forum with Michael on the receiving end, as I bet he will be quicker to accept your apology than some of the music directors and/or library owners who are often (believe it or not) even busier than Mr. Laskow!

-Bill
