Till I Die

Post by marcin » Mon Nov 26, 2007 7:11 am

HI!Any opinions on that one?TILL I DIE - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=trueWhat do you think about it in general? Is the sound "broadcast quality"? Is it something more for TV and film or does it even have a chance with other artists? Is it "electronica" for you or how would you call this style?Thx!bye!Marcin

Hi Marcin,It's a really well produced track. Are you signed up for the dispatch listings? I'd suggest submitting for this listing. Submitting is due today: "ROCKTRONICA" SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a West Coast Publisher for a couple of TV shows they're currently working on. They want great songs that combine elements of Rock with Electronica a la Death In Vegas, Bloc Party, Chromeo, Ladytron, Kasabian, the Postal Service, Ratatat, the Helio Sequence, the Crystal Method, etc. Male or female vocals are OK. All tempos are OK, but energetic songs with catchy choruses and hooks will typically work best. Great overall performances are required. This company has signed and placed dozens of TAXI songs in the last few years and they typically offer exclusive deals. Broadcast quality needed - great sounding home recordings are OK. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics and English translation. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI. For ground submissions, please enclose a S.A.S.E. if you would like a response. As always, we will notify everyone via e-mail, whether your submissions have been Forwarded or Returned. Submissions must be received no later than 4:00 pm, Pacific Standard Time (California time), Monday, Nov. 26, 2007. TAXI # D071126ROI'm submitting this song: http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... rueWelcome to TAXI!Arthur

Hi Marcin,I hope you got a forward since your song really seemed to fit the listing. Have you heard yet?I took a shot with my rocktronica song, but it didn't make it. Since it was dispatch I didn't get feedback, but listening now my song didn't fit the listing. It sounds a bit 80's. I'll rework it.Art

Hi Arthur! No forward for me too! But that's ok, it was my first submission so I didn't expected too much anyway. I listened a lot to those "a la" bands and I think my song had too less "rock" in it. So I'll wait for a "poptronica" listing. Would be nice to hear something that was forwarded.ByeMarcin

No better way I know of to tighten your focus and take better aim at the listings you continue to submit to.Ted

HI Marcin, your piece is quite good IMO, production is quite good as far as I can tell. Great haunting vocals. Did you listen to the 'a la' artists that were listed - that's the trick with these things, to make sure whatever you submit sounds like one or more of the examples listed. I'm sure this will find a home

Hi Hummingbird! Thanks a lot! I listened to them I wasn't sure about the rock thing in my song, but as I already said it was my first submission and now after my first 2 weeks on taxi I start to understand how the things go. You know, I'm not very fast in recording, so for now I have to work with the stuff that is "finished" and so it's a lot of waiting for the right listing in my case.... but meanwhile I practice a lot and I hope one day can submit with a complete new song to a dispatch listing! ;-)I gave myself 20 years for making a living JUST from songwriting, so I'm not in a big hurry! ByeMarcin
