Titles for Collaborations

Post by CEMundt » Thu Dec 30, 2021 5:41 pm

I have an collaborative piece that I’m trying to title. We don’t regularly collaborate (yet) and he’s not out there marketing his name. How would you title your song in this situation. “Title (ft. Other Guy)”? “Title (with Other Guy”?

What about on a taxi profile? Obviously, you can’t change the artist. Is there a way that members tend to do that?

No idea, I only use the "profile" to stage tunes for listings
I use Soundcloud for a public profile, used to have a webpage, no more...

100% this. In sync nobody really cares who wrote it as it's highly unlikely a library music writer would ever get credited anywhere.

Far better to give it a good meaningful title that might indicate what type of scene it could be used for, and as long as the cue is registered properly to both writers by the library with the appropriate split then you'll get paid by your PRO should it ever gets used.
