A PARTY Dance Music from my Fiançée

Post by HectorRContreras » Tue Aug 27, 2013 9:16 pm

Hello everyone,

Catherine Armant, my Fiançée and at times, my Producer and Arranger ;) has just composed a PARTY Dance Music for this Listing :

"MAJOR NEW YORK AD AGENCY needs "COOL, CONTEMPORARY, EDGY, ELECTRONIC/DANCE/POP HYBRID SONGS **and/or** INSTRUMENTALS with a "Euro" texture for a National TV Commercial. If you're submitting a song, please make sure the lyric is UNIVERSAL, avoiding specific names, places, times, dates, brands, etc.

TAXI Tip: This is for a "night out on the town" type of TV spot, so if you submit a song with lyrics, please make sure your lyrics support that theme. "We're going to party, gonna have a great time, party like there's no tomorrow," etc. type of lyrics should work well for this.

The Music Supervisor also mentioned that your Songs or Instrumentals should have a build from the front, and climax with a huge payoff when the chorus kicks in. And remember, give them something contemporary and modern sounding!

TAXI Tip #2: Don't submit anything dark for this pitch. Uptempo, fun, and emotionally upbeat is the order of the day for this pitch. They need some propulsive, thumping music that makes you want to go out and party with the people in the TV spot. Imagine what you'd hear seeing a group of "beautiful people" come out the front door of a ultra trendy Las Vegas hotel as they burst onto the strip for a night on the town. Makes me want to drive by and throw water balloons at them. Is it just me?

The estimated license fee for this placement is $10,000-$15,000. This is a Direct-to Agency placement, so YOU WILL KEEP 100% of the income, and you will keep all of your publishing and master rights. No publisher splits. You must own or control 100% of your master and composition rights to submit for this pitch. Do NOT submit tracks with samples of any other artists' material. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No Basis. Please submit 1-3 Instrumental tracks OR Songs online, or per CD, no later than SUNDAY, August 4th at 6pm (PDT). TAXI #U130804DA"

The Instrumental is called : "I want to DANCE tonight"

Catherine used an unusual kind of Percussion often heard in Lily Allen Songs.

What do you think ?

Hector,
You have some very interesting ideas...
I would first have you work on attempting to get your percussion up and punchy like modern music.
Here is a video of a band that I thought of when I listened to your piece.
Maybe you could shoot for getting close to the sound of their beats level-wise?

Dear Cass,

Thank you so much for your Visit and your Feedback.

I see, ... the Drumming of these Guys is quite cool. I am taking heed. For Catherine, the Genre is completely out of her comfort zone, as she is more into Avant-Garde and Abstract and World Music, etc.

This is precisely why your Comment is appreciated.

It is always exciting to approach a new Genre. And ... to learn ! ;)

Take care. Blessings, Hector

I very much like your Instrumental : "Yellow Petals" dear Cass.

It is unusual, uplifting, nice instrumentation. Catherine loves it.

Nicely said dear Robert.

We can see here in the Forum the importance of the Music Libraries, yes ? Especially in the case of a sudden good Dispatch from TAXI, ... and we do not have that much time.
I agree.
Thank God for Music Libraries. I use them too.
I mean by Libraries, the short examples of well played Instrumentals that we can use at times. They are very short.

Next, when we are not so pressured, there comes a time when a Music Composition can be completely original. Nothing is borrowed. It is all done by us alone.

Do you want to hear one of those Music Compositions ?

Hector and myself we were TOGETHER this time ! For real.

We are Fiançés, it is absolutely true. But it is also true that an entire Continent and an entire Ocean separate us.
There is also something else that separate us from getting married. Something to do with the very severe and expensive Visa requirements for Marriage.

Anyway, in May 2011, we were together, in England.

And we composed this Instrumental, called : "Catherine's BALCONY". It is all done by us. Hector plays the Virtuoso Piano, and I do the Strings and the different Flutes. And I do the Piano at the beginning and at the end.

You may like it. The Tempo sounds very slow at first. But nothing is boring after that. Trust me.

So, ... how do you like it dear Robert ?

Hi Hector / Catherine

I enjoyed listening to this, and while I got into the groove of it, it didn't really make me want to dance. The thing I noticed about your track is that it doesn't have a single-focus, driving beat that most dance music has. The sort of beat that makes you want to stamp your feet to it as you move. I also thought it could be faster.

However, please take this with a grain of salt as it isn't really my genre!

Cheers
