Hey Everybody-
OK, so there are two current TAXI listings up right now, and the reference tracks (at least to me) seem to blur into each other somewhat..... I will list them now ...
LISTING #1
Lots of '70s & '80s-Style ROCK SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed by an A-List Sync and Music Licensing Company with a very successful track record of placements in Film, TV, and Commercials.
This Company is looking for Mid-to-Up-Tempo Songs in the general stylistic wheelhouse of the following references:
"My Way, Soon" by Greta Van Fleet
"Getouttahere" by Super City
"Nobody Wants To Die" by Rival Sons
QUOTING THE COMPANY: "We're looking for some fun modern rock Songs that have their roots in classic rock of the '70s or '80s, but are new and fresh. I’m open to male or female vocals. Songs need to have been recorded in the last five years or so, give or take."
Please submit modern Rock Songs with lots of energy and a sound that is reminiscent of '70s and '80s Rock! Your submissions should have catchy melodies, memorable choruses, throwback rhythms, solid arrangements, and well-performed vocals. Instrumentation that is stylistically consistent with the references and similar tracks will work best, such as electric guitars, bass, drums, etc. Please be sure any virtual sounds or samples you use sound are high-quality and genre-appropriate. Confident, well-performed vocal performances are needed.
Lyrics should avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Please do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.
This company offers an EXCLUSIVE, 50/50 deal, so please be sure the Songs you pitch for this opportunity are NOT already signed with any other Companies or Catalogs. Any sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Company. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit as many Songs as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Saturday, May 25th, 2024. TAXI # S240525CL
OK..... so Great Van Fleet is almost a Country Rock meets Zeppelin kinda vibe for me... it is definitely 70's rock influenced
"Nobody Wants to Die" by Rival Sons - Definite 70's banger of a track
"Getouttahere" By Super City is an outlier here... I dont hear ANYTHING 70's about this one, maybe a little 80's NEW WAVE influence (The Knack perhaps?) - So this is confusing, but wait!! theres more!!....
LISTING #2
Lots of REBELLIOUS ROCK SONGS with MALE vocals are needed by an A-List Sync and Music Licensing Company with a very successful track record of placements in Film, TV, and Commercials.
This Publisher is searching for Up-Tempo Songs that could be heard on a playlist with the following references:
WARNING: The references may include graphic and explicit lyrics. Listener discretion is advised.
"Are You Gonna Be My Girl" by Jet
"Devil In Me" by 22-20s
"Funny Little Feeling" by Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers
Please submit original Rock Songs with a rebellious attitude, lots of raucous energy, and a retro sound in the general stylistic ballpark of the references! Your submissions should have intense melodies, irreverent choruses, driving rhythms, solid arrangements, well-written lyrics, and expressive, well-performed Male vocals with lots of raw, unbridled energy and attitude. Instrumentation should be in the general wheelhouse of the reference and others like it (think retro guitars, drums, bass, etc). Please be sure any virtual sounds or samples you use are high-quality and realistic sounding.
NOTE: This Company is not looking for modern sounds and productions here! Please pay close attention to the references to understand the type of "retro" sound they are looking for, while also being careful not to copy or clone them.
Lyrics should avoid references to specific names, dates, times, places, brands, and profanity. Please do NOT copy the referenced artist or song in any way, shape, or form. Use it only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

"Are you Gonna be My Girl" Jet - To me this could fall under modern alternative rock, OR just flat out 70's inspired rock - Maybe a track like this would work for BOTH briefs?? And more importantly, would a track like "Getouttahere" work for both briefs?
"Devil in Me" and "Funny Little Feeling" also seem to fit a 70's type of style as well....
I am in the process of writing 3 or 4 fresh tracks that lean more towards the "Getouttahere," "Are you Gonna be My Girl" and "Nobody Wants to Die" examples, and was wondering if they could/should be double submitted?? I don't have anything beyond the demo stage to post yet, but just curious as to everyone's thoughts here - Is this a golden opportunity to submit 3 tracks to 2 briefs?? Do folks do this very often?? Or is it usually a waste of $5.00?? Thanks in advance

Hey Brad
They are 99.99999% likely to be the same company. The key difference is the 2nd one says " REBELLIOUS ROCK SONGS ...original Rock Songs with a rebellious attitude, lots of raucous energy". So if your song has that rebellious thing going on, submit to that 2nd one. Otherwise, the 1st.
It reminds me of the expression, "RTFM" which stands for "Read The Fine Manual". (Well, the F could stand for another "F" word). In this case, it's RTFL (Read the F*** Listing).
