Typical porn music?

OK, here goes... I am home today working on pitches for my music placement company. One of the cues I am looking to fill asks for "typical porn music". It's not for a porn movie, it's going to be in the background of a scene where a porn flick is playing on TV...Now, the dumb question of the day. What is "typical porn music"?? Not that I've never seen such a flick (was forced to against my will at bachelor parties, yuk yuk ) but I have no recollection of the background music... OK, I was focused on other things ... My first thought was that it would be instrumental tracks, nothing with vocals.So, without my going to my local video store today, can anyone help here?? Answer by PM if you don't want to admit how much you know about this!! Casey

Ok Ok Ok....... uhhhhhhhhh,,,,,,,.....I hate to say I know exactly..... and why..... but it is a music that could almost have its own genre..... its 'love-making music".... Start with a light electronic drum groove.... think smooth jazz groove now some bass groove with a steady line..... use nice major 7th chord progressions I, IV, II V I ,,,, little low volume funk electric guitar strum..... with a little wah.... throw some 9ths on the top of the chords.. electric piano.... and bongos and congaz.... think of some boz scaggs style disco era.. the only thing is that you have a break-spot where the beat slows and everything drops out but the drums..... then start up again with a little faster tempo..... Plays in about a two to two and half minute loop.... If your still stuck next Wed let me know and I'll find some examples to burn on a disc..... ArkJack

Normally when they ask for something like that they are looking for "classic porn" music, i.e. sleazy 70's wah wah type stuff...I can email you a sample if needed... (Audio only OF COURSE )This type of music is quite popular these days in mainstream tv and movies as a tongue-in-cheek backdrop to "risque" scenes or situations.Hope this helps.

Ah! Here's something I know about, living in Chatsworth (look it up)!Classic bass and drums. Boom! Boom! Boom!Some synth textures. A little Fender Rhodes. Maybe some electric guitar.Sax is pretty passe these days. No alto sax with alot of vibrato like "Harlem Nocturne".Of course, I've never seen any of these movies, so I'm just guessing! Ern

Chatsworth? Why Ern, that's right up there with greater metropolitan Torrence. I used to hang out in Torrence, so I know this.
