urban tension confusion

Post by alphastate » Wed Jun 14, 2017 4:56 pm

I received a critique today in which I was told that "the guitar sounding instruments" sounded too synthetic. They were actual guitars, played by me. Anyone have advice on how to avoid that problem in the future?

Totally depends on the cue, the brief and the a las.

Feel free to upload your cue to soundcloud (private if you like) or your taxi profile, cut and paste the ENTIRE listing into your post and sit back with a bag of popcorn while the feedback comes in.

Andy is right - without hearing the cues or seeing the listing it's hard to give advice and feedback. Post em up and you'll get appropriate feedback!

Hey what's up Alpha. Yeah, it would definitely help to hear the track, but my first questions would be: Are you using a real amp with the real guitar, or are you using amp simulation plugins? I was having a really tough time getting a great guitar tone with my nice strat, plugged directly into my UA Apollo interface, and then grabbing an amp simulation plugin. It wasn't until I fired up my Matchless amp, cranked the volume, and actually mic'd the amp (I know it sounds crazy :o :o ), and what a difference it made in the overall guitar tones.....Just a thought.
