US Placement not showing up on Tunesat

Post by Susanstunes » Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:22 am

Hi everyone!
I found out that my instrumental cover of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen was used at least once in the US. I am with BMI.
It doesn't show up on Tunesat. Would there be a known reason for this?

Tunesat is notoriously hit & miss as far as detections go. You can get false positives as well as it missing things. The reason for this is it's trying to match the audio you uploaded to what it's hearing on TV , a kind of sonic fingerprint that is easily missed if your piece is under dialogue or they used an alt mix that you didn't upload to Tunesat

Ok, thanks. I have heard that. Now I'm experiencing it! At least I know I haven't had any false positives because I heard the music under the show and they were no doubters.
Have a good day Cosmic Dolphin!

As stated before, Tunesat is very hit and miss and why I will only use their free account. It's not a service worth paying for in my opinion.

Also, if you have various stems of a song signe to a music library, it's best to upload all of those versions to Tunesat to increase your chances of it getting detected.

Hi Terrell, thanks for jumping in on this. I think I'd hit my 50 track limit pretty quick if I started loading in alt mixes and stems.
Just wish there was a really good way to find out what's going on. Geez!
Anyway have a great one. Susan

That is the key, tunesat might miss most of the tunes but they'll reflect in your statement even if you have to wait 12 months for them to appear (I am talking to you BMI  )
