Hey folks -In your experience, can anyone give me a VERY general idea of what might be the 'average' percentage of a film's budget that goes to music placement?I know SO many variables can effect the total, but there must be a general rule that film budgeters go by for a pre-production approximation on what might be going to the film's music?I've got a couple of possibilities to serve as music supervisor and I don't want to cut myself short...Any ideas? Thanks,Von

Quote:And the winning answer is... ??According to someone who attended a Film Scoring workshop held by ASCAP in NYC - anywhere from 5% to 15%, as a general rule. If the soundtrack is extremely important to the story of the movie, it could go as high as 20%.So, averaging to 10% seems acceptable to me.Now, let's get to the table and see what's on it...
