I'm prompted to ask after reading this discussion
48-000-hz-retroactively-t150497.html
and because after having my interface running at 24/44.1k for many years, I recently set it to 24/48k.
I have a sneaking suspicion that running the converters at 48k forces the VIs that I use to upsample when they play in my DAW. I've convinced myself that 48k loads the CPU sometimes by a lot, and I'm afraid I have to adjust the record buffer size (and increase latency) to compensate. I've only found 1 VI that mentions sample rate for the library (IK's Miroslav Philharmonic) and that is 44.1k.
Does anyone have experience/found documentation/war stories that they'd like to share about this?
Should I record at 24/44.1k and upsample on export when called for?
I appreciate any and all comments,
Alan

Re: VI sample rate?
Yes it's fine, there are many more quality factors that are of concern before you get to sample rates
