Listing D230302RB
Hi Taxi peer-to-peer fans!
Haven't beren very active on the Forums
due to albums producing for 2 librairies...
This is the ref I used...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrYF4atVPYA
Although the references have vocals, please submit Instrumentals Only for this request.
Please send them well-produced R&B Instrumentals with engaging grooves, memorable motifs, and plenty of mainstream appeal that could work for placements in sync. Your submissions should have current-sounding R&B instrumentation in the general ballpark of the references, polished production, and slick arrangements with plenty of layers, interest, dynamics, and forward motion. Please be sure any virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality and not dated-sounding, as well.

My pitch for this listing
Comments appreciated... mix, annoying flutes, cheap guitar sounds, dated synths (I love this one!)
Many thanks in advance
Peace
Pierre

Hi Pierre,
Nice groove. I would put a edit point with just a chord shot at 15 sec. I would get rid of the flute in the beginning and actually replace the whole melody with the sax as the lead instrument, I think it sounds better. I would also try to stay as much as you can and stay on a consistent chord pattern. The flute and then bringing in the sax doesn't work for me, too many instrument and you said it replace the cheap guitar with a real one, I happen to know a guitar player if you ever need one.
Good luck

Oh okay, I thought when you said "cheap guitar sounds" you meant it's a guitar VST.
Yeah maybe just a clean sound with a bit of reverb.
good luck.

Yeah! Was able to make a real guitar sound like a virtual one, good trick but utterly useless!
Thanks

Hi Pierre
I think you got the harmonies right, with this repetitive minor progression.
My issue is with the groove. R'n'B is all about the swagger and the beat.
Since you mentioned a reference check out where the Kick and the rest of the beat are in "Unloyal"!
It's got to be in your face! 90% of that style is in the groove/beat so you have to focus on that first and the rest will follow LOL!
Good luck
Chris

Hi Andre and Chris for your replies.
you where to the point!
Many thanks for your comments.
This is my last mix
Still a work in progress... a mix is never finished.
But at some point it has to go and ''play in the traffic''

Re: Listing D230302RB
Hi Pierre,
Much better and cleaner with the sax. I would make the keys much smoother ,lush sounding(maybe more vibrato) and also the small runs like at 20-21 second and a maybe other places through out the song, it's sounds a bit stiff with the timing.
That's all for now.
Good luck
