Amy Winehouse found dead at 27.

Post by tedsingingfox » Sat Jul 23, 2011 10:33 am

It's the breaking news story online right now... possible overdose. Far too often it seems, the greatest talents are the most troubled.

R.I.P., Amy.

Hate to see it happen to anybody.... Not much of a fan myself but general musical respect just the same. She striked me as one of the tortured ones... couldent escape her own self.

RIP Amy.

Lord Jesus have mercy upon her soul. Through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary may she rest in peace.

Horrible news indeed

I have her Back to Black album and just love her music. So sad that her life was ruined by drugs and alcohol.

What a tragedy! What a talent! And to think she was booed off the stage recently. :(

At the risk of coming across as a crass, unfeeling jerk, I'll share my delusional involvement with Ms. Winehouse. One of my tunes, "Here Come Mr. Booze", in the country version, won song awards in both the GASC contest and the Billboard contest. Since several reviewers said that no country artist would ever record it, I had it re-demoed as a pop/blues production. I went on line, and pitched to several people who had worked with Ms. Winehouse. I even found the address of the place she was staying in the Caribbean, and mailed her a CD of the tune. All for nought, however. I thought she would find this tune absolutely appropriate for her worldview. And after today, even moreso. It's track # 7 (pop/rock version) at www.myspace.com/suspendedspidersongs I''m not looking for feedback or commentary, I just think this tune reflected Amy's demons. May she rest in peace.
